This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.

Lansing is in Michigan, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Lansing follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I want to start by saying I respect what this place seems to stand for. It looks like they support local youth basketball, and I really appreciate that they hire people who deserve a second chance. That matters. That said, my food experience was disappointing. I ordered the lunch frog legs and lunch gator tail, and the gator tail was fried so hard and dry that I couldnβt eat it. It honestly tasted more like overcooked chicken gizzards. The frog legs were also let down by the breading, which came off in one whole piece like a shell or skin instead of staying on the food. I really wanted to like it, especially because I support businesses doing good in the community, but for me the food didnβt match the mission. I ended up feeling like I wasted money on lunch.

Pick your fresh seafood, how you want it prepared (steamed or grilled) and a side of something fried! No frills, but friendly service. Like taking your lunch break down to the Gulf.

My kids, especially Prince CiarΓ‘n, often ask for the chicken with the white stuff. So much so that it's a must have on each of their's born day celebrations. Eastside Fish Fry & Grill comes through like champions every single time. Even going as far as opening up early to ensure we had chicken at party time. So I had to meet the person behind the place. Although our meeting was quick - I had to GLADLY get them kids to Dance class - I very much enjoyed chopping it up with Henry Meyer. Dang what great energy, zest for living, and connection to community. He's got a great thing going on 13 years strong. This right here is Lansing. The people. The grit. The putting in the work to uplift our city and the people in it. Taking the time to send a message to the young men? Come on now! Oh yeah!

It's been a WHILE since I've visited, but nothing has changed! I love their dockside atmosphere, friendly employees, and most of all the food. They have my favorite hush puppies, even better than those I've had in the Keys. John helped me with my order and that dude was very helpful. Keep doing your thang Eastside Fish Fry!

I am visiting Michigan and did a drive from Detroit to Grand Rapids. I did a Google search for lunch spots along my way and Eastside Fish Fry and Grill was one of my selections. This place has been featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. So, why not give it a try. I am so happy I did!!! This place is a "dive" and you may want to keep driving, but don't. All Staff that I encountered were pleasant and welcoming. They stayed busy while I was there. Seating is limited, but a lot of customers take their order to go. Now, let's get to the food. I ordered the fried catfish with fried macaroni and cheese bites and fried Oreos. The very first bite of the fish received an "Oh My God!" It was sooo good!! The macaroni and cheese bites were good, but filling. I wanted to definitely finish my fish. So, I took the oreos to go to snack on the road. Thank you fellas, I really enjoyed my lunch.
